I look forward to visiting my Grandmother and my Uncle’s family. The trip should be a good one with trips to the Italian location, Renaissance Fair, and a tour of OmniTI. Overall, it should be an excellent trip and should be as good as when I visited for my Uncle’s Marriage.
Wednesday, October 18th
- Mostly driving.
- Brother has a concert and we’ll probably go to a Italian Resturant known for giving extremely large portions.
- Sleep
- Drive the rest of the way to Columbia.
Thursday
Ironically, I had stated that I would have liked to visit a PHP conference. Even though I do have the money, I can’t spend it to be part of it.
- Arrive at Grandmother’s house and take a shower and sleep, if not had to much at the hotel.
- Probably do some yard work.
The interesting part about the yard work is that Gram, has huge trees that dump several feet every year. Twelve years ago, we (my brother and I) spent a good part of three weeks raking all of the leaves in the front and back. There was about two feet in the back and about a foot in the front. It was cool, because you could see the bushes and plants that were hidden. There wasn’t any grass, mostly because of the lack of sunlight. It was fun, but when it was over, it kind of broke down the things to do to nothing.
My mom thinks we can do it during the time we are there, but that depends entirely on how much work was done the last time we were there.
Friday
- Probably go to Balt. for Italian.
- Visit OmniTI. Always enjoyed seeing how a company works, except for my place of work.
Continuing Second Item Tangent: It was fun the first day when I got to see what it was like behind those “Employee Only” doors, then it was like, “I did this for how many years?” If only I can get an IT job, then I’ll probably hate that too. Is there a way to not work and make money?
Eh, actually I very much loved doing IT exercises at school. It is just the whole idea of deadlines and having to commit to the work. That opposed to just like, “Hell yes, I get to code today!” I do get those moments a lot when I do projects, but they are projects of my choosing. A job is a job and any job is worth working as hard as required to get it finished.
Saturday, 21st October
Renaissance Fair, all day and probably spend time with Ron and his wife. For some reason, I have a hard time remembering in-laws names, unless they live close by.
Sunday, 22nd October
Get rest and leave. Get back and get back to development projects on Monday. Post how it all went down on Tuesday.
