Extending Mercury Board and Quicksilver Board

Extending Mercury Board

Mercury Board is already class based, so it would be a simple matter updating it for PHP 5 and adding new features to it. Also, since it already works, I’ll be able to test the changes. I want to add clean up and some features from the other forums. I’m going to take a look at the rest of the code and see what I can do.

Quicksilver is Mercury Board

Quicksilver forum is a branch of Mercury Board and it even says so in the documentation. Which is cool, but I can’t really see any changes at this point from Quicksilver and Mercury Board. I’ll be going over both and merging the two forums.

I’m also going to split some classes into two or more classes and allow better database abstraction. I just hope that the teams will use my refactoring. I would like to see it either be up on the same level as SMF and phpBB or extend beyond their reach. I am only one developer and phpBB has many.
