It was easy for me but one day after practicing. I saw that Samith fell backwards. I ran over to him not expecting that he would be seriously hurt. I tried to pick him up but he pushed me away.
“I’m dieing Vincent and soon I will pass over. I have to tell you something before I go. No matter what happens, you will always be the kind person I know. Can you promise me that? Yes, I know you will because it is your nature. There are people out there who will want you dead. You must train more so that you will stronger. Before I die I want you to do something for me. I want you to take my soul so that I can be of more help to you.†Samith said weakly.
“No! I can’t do that, not to you. You are like a father to me and I don’t want you to die. Why do you have to die?†I cried.
“It doesn’t matter, I should have been dead a long time ago but I had a purpose in life to train you in what I know. Now that is done and I must die. You are stronger then I would have ever been and I’m proud of you. You must be humble in your quests that are to come. I made the mistake of showing off my power and I paid a heavy price for it. You must… Listen, you have… to…†As Samith drew his passing breath I stabbed him in the heart and turn the dagger 90 degrees while bailing.
I didn’t know what Samith was trying to tell me but it wouldn’t matter now. I spent the rest of the day burying Samith and cleaning up on the house. I couldn’t plant anything so I stored the seeds in a barrel and started to walk up the mountain pass. It was hard going at first and I had some trouble but I found that I was able to go further before almost passing out. I was nine and my stamina was higher than most children my age. I was able to get over the first peak in a week but I still had quite some ways to go before I got to my destination. The strange thing about it is that I had no idea where I was going. I was moving and that is all that mattered. I pasted the last peak in two weeks with only a minor battle with some monsters but I used my training to defeat them. I also thought I heard whispers but I couldn’t be sure as I walked through the scattered forests.
