Warning: Beware of “Adult” Dating sites which solicit nude or loosely clothed female models!

These pop up and extremely difficult to tell apart from the legitimate adult themed dating sites. I’ll tell you what they are, but not who they are, mostly you should know what to look for since they will most likely change URI location. I also want to point out why you should stay as far as possible away from them.

Legitimate Sites

Sites like Craigs list which allow you to post personals for just about anything, which I would think is trustworthy (the site, not the people) is okay to post and seek personals of adult nature. I’m not condoning that you do post personals asking for sex. A relationship with a woman is more important than some one time fling which may or may not carrry STDs. Basically, you are prostituting either yourself or the person you sleep with, which is to say that you are paying for sex and not to be with that person for an extended period of time.

The problem is that scam artists prey on people that they think don’t know better, don’t care to second guess a “good thing,” and don’t fact check until after the fact. After being raped in the ass so many times, you kind of get burned in the wrong places and the spot tingles whenever you think some isn’t right. That is the harsh way to put it, but if you think something isn’t right, then most of the time it isn’t.

The Con

Okay, there are sites which spam artists who are intelligent and want to make some extra cash bait single men with the hopes of dating extremely attractive models. Most of the personals on the site will be models and you’ll find that there will be many personals with the same photos albeit in different geographical locations.

There will be personals which send you an ‘hello, want to meet’ greeting every so often, in the hopes that you will sign up and pay the money to send a reply back. The scope of the personals will also be small (which is not an indicator of itself, but is something to look for) and limited in the range of personal’s description (multiple personals will have similar text).

I would not say that every scam site will be like this, they may become even “better” and offer a wider range of models. It is just that you have to pay attention to the fine print and minor details. If you’ve been to more dating sites, things might not seem right to you.

How to Avoid being Took

Things to look for is difficult, but I’ve discovered that “gut” feelings matter a whole lot. That and I’m not going to pay for every dating site out there. I’m also looking for a relationship and don’t care much for one night stands. Any site which promotes as much is looking out for themselves, in my opinion. Which means that you need to look out for yourself.

Don’t use your email address. Create a new email address before you sign up. Most email providers allow you to create multiple emails which go to one mailbox. Do that in case you do find out that the site isn’t legitimate and is sending you spam instead of providing a service. I made that mistake and use this method with most dating sites or low trustworthy sites.

Demo the service for a short duration. Use the demo features that allow you to search around, send greetings, and generally get the feel of the site. If the site wants you to pay for even the smallest amount of conversation, then go to another site that allows more free roaming and conversation. For me, if they don’t at least allow me to ping (send a greeting which says I exist and am interested) then I don’t bother.

Research the site before paying! If the service has been around, then check Rip Off Reports to see what they say and do a Google search of the site name (and possibility the URL) to see what bloggers and forum users say about the site. If it is nothing, then it either that Google hasn’t picked anything up, that there hasn’t been enough web savvy people who were took, it is too new that people haven’t discovered its hidden agenda, or it might just be legitimate after all.

Researching Pays Off Big Time

I found a site like the above and researched the site. I was glad I did, because I saved 29 USD, but not really. I wasn’t going to pay anyway, I was just wondering why I was receiving a huge influx of spam after signing up. Come to find out, both Google and Rip off Reports came up with negative reviews with nothing positive about the site.
