I Sometimes Miss the Point with my Tangents

I suppose the issue I have is that my tangents are often multiple points and deal with stories which have nothing to do with my original point. When I come out of it, I’m left with the feeling that my point wasn’t clear enough and I also forget what the point of the story was supposed to be. I think it is an issue, but it is somewhat difficult to correct.

I think actually, I just enjoy telling stories. I like making up stories as well. The area where I have difficulty is making up a story that brings my point across. It is easier than telling stories which I’ve heard being told before. I can sort of half-ass my way through them, but I always leave out some minor to important detail and have to go back and give it after the fact.

It is never good to tell something after the fact, because they’ve already lost interest and if their attention span is anything average, then they’ve probably also forgotten what it was your story was supposed to be about.

Generally, I find that writing thoughts down are better to give a more coherent approach to the direction of the point and story. I do like the occasion tangent, but I tend to be more careful with my words. My humor is often more dark and dry, which can lead to trouble in the wrong situations along the wrong crowd. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
