Well, I was able to get phpmyadmin installed correctly, which is great and that does mean that I’ll have an easier time managing the databases. I was planning on obscuring the location of the installation, but that will have to wait for a couple of days.
I need to wait until DragonU.net domain is transferred to Godaddy and then I can point it to the new server. Once that is completed, then a large part of the hard tasks will be completed. The new server is pretty sweet, but I’m still trying to wrap my head around a few things.
I’m trying to make it to where the access logs and error logs are rotated daily, the reason for this is that I want it to be where I don’t have to stop the server in order to change out the access logs when they get too big. I’m going to do some more research on a solution and I hope I don’t have to build one myself.
As for the game sites, I’m going to test with HeatOfTheRace.com to get Trac, SVN, and the web site up. It will be good practice and I believe I’ll only have to install Trac once for all of the games. I’m going to try to make it to where Trac is downloaded by SVN, so that upgrades are easier. I’ll be working with Trac 0.11, so installation will be easier and I’ll be using mod_python, so it should be faster.
I still need to build the WordPress plugin, which is going to manage the SVN users, but I don’t think that will be all that difficult. Might be an easier plugin that I would have thought. Just depends on how difficult it is to interface with the htpasswd through PHP.
Moving SantosJ.name
I’m going to have to move SantosJ.name soon. That is going to be a nice project. I’ll probably do it around midnight, so that downtime isn’t that long. When I finish that, I’ll have absidongames.com, dragonu.net, santosj.name, and simplyprofile.com moved over.
