Well, I’ll have one card paid off in October with three more to go. I’m really thinking about starting WordPress consulting on the side in order to make some extra money. Well, it depends on how much money I can get, I think the first few clients I find, I’m only going to charge $25 an hour for WordPress work. Seems like a fair amount to start out.
If I prove myself and see how difficult it is and what not, then I’m thinking I’ll eventually charge more for the consulting work. Well, any money I receive will go to paying off debt, so it will be nice to get as much work as possible. The cool part is if I can sell a product or two on the side, eventually.
The nice thing about saving money, is that I moved to a new apartment that will reduce my rent $125 a month. Whereas before, I had just enough for everything (food, utilities, rent, gas), I should now have an extra $125 dollars a month to work off some of my debt. I’m going to keep track of my finances and see where I can save more money. I think that at the least, I’m at a point where I’m not falling behind and can finally get caught up.
However, I won’t be able to apply to Google Summer of Code this year, so I won’t be receiving that money. I’m thinking I’ll need to work on finding clients and finishing the online browser game projects. I also have a writing project that while it won’t make very much money, I do at least want to place ads on it, in case it does get a lot of hits eventually.
