Season 3 of Venture Brothers

Are you going to watch it? I am and I hope many other people do too.

There are really awesome, funny episodes each season and I expect this to be true for season 3 as well. I think I remember the really terrible ones more, the ones they were like, “Eh, at least the one previously doesn’t suck.” Perhaps not, but I think, “Why is this funny?”

Hell, I’ll be buying the DVDs, so here is to looking forward to season 4. I’m predicting, but I’ll be willing to bet there will be one. Probably won’t be a season 6, because Cartoon Network Adult Swim is a bunch of bitches that likes to cancel really good shows after 5 seasons. Damn you for canceling “Home Movies” Damn you! Well, at least Brandon Small was able to do Metalocalypse, which is awesome. I think every episode is gold with Metalocalypse, mostly because of the soundtrack, but the humor is gold too.

Is Venture Brothers Getting Better?

The answer is yes!

New Story Arcs

  1. Is Dr. Venture Dean’s and Hank’s Father?
  2. Who is Brock’s Brother and is he still alive?
  3. Exactly how old are Dr. Venture and Brock?
  4. Will we still the awesomely cool Hunter again?

#1. Deep Thoughts along with Theory

Eh. It could go either way actually. I did doubt that they were born naturally in the episode where Hank and Dean have to have their balls removed. Dr. Venture makes a comment about should have fixed the malfunction in the prototype stage. What? It did stick me as odd that he would say that, but it only solidified the theory that the boys were clones. It could mean that it was only the prototype of each of the clones and not the creation of the boys.

#2. Couldn’t Get Too Involved Until Second Season

If you only think that you are going to get one season then you can only do so much and introduce so much story with one season. Giving deeper backstory of Brock is added bonus for enjoying the series. We may or may not see Brock’s brother this season, but could be a big possiblity in the third season if there is one.

#3. I have been pondering this for some time now.

I always thought they were 40, which would put the boys around 15 to 20. Episode 16 or “Assassinanny 911″ gives some numbers that would put Brock and Dr. Venture by association at 45+. There is some hints that it is even later as Brock went to the Secret Ops after he finish the army. That could take anywhere from 6 weeks if he only completed basic training to 2 or more years.

This would give Dr. Venture time to have sexual relations at 25, and have the boys. There are other theories that could be given. If Dr. Venture only had one child then Hank could be Brock’s child from many of the ladies he has had. It would explain why he cares so much for the boys and why he is Dr. Venture’s bodyguard.

If Hank is Brock’s son, then he would feel compelled to protect him. He would need Dr. Venture because for one, if anyone knew Hank was his son then they would want to capture him to do harm to Brock and finally, so that Dr. Venture could create replacements for in case that ever does happen. It would be possible for Brock to find out that Dr. Venture was researching cloning and could even have been sent to stop him.

#4. This Guy is Too Cool To Not Have Again

The guy is just high quality humor at all times. Whoever created his character is a genius! He is on the level of the Monarch is on antics and unlike the Monarch is competent and hardcore. They should have his character again, if not in flashbacks, shown in a future episode. I don’t think they can devote too much time to his character as he is a supporting character and they only have so much time in an episode for characters that don’t have some direct support for the main characters. You could think of the Monarch as a main antagonist as well as main character.

Better Jokes

The episodes are better in the second season and there have been times where I’ve laughed for five minutes. I believe I even cried I laughed so hard. Yeah, I’ll be buying the DVD and there should be a third season with this much quality humor and action.

Venture Brothers Clone Theory

Pointless Topic

I’ll explain why.

The authors or script writers control the story, except when they get feedback from the god that owns the product. Usually, in the ways of comic stories, they will give hints on which way they are going to move a theory. If they want to kill a theory, they will do so. We the audience can only try to pick up the clues as to where the story is heading with a given theory.

They may, if they so desire to lose fans and probably be hunted down, give a dramatic twist not in the hints. Most would conclude such action as hackish and seek revenge against the writers. Many times, hints are given in ways that they can point to two different directions. These are the best hints, but the most difficult to write.

Naruto Theory Examples

Don’t get me wrong, I’m in no way comparing Naruto with The Venture Brothers.

You have a few theories floating around in the Naruto world. I will only describe two, which are relevant to my point. The first is the Naruto’s father is the Fourth Hokage and the second is that Rock Lee’s father is his teacher.

These two theories are posted countless times and have been discussed, tossed, spit on, and cursed for some time now. Well, at least the first one has, only fools continue the second one. Both theories have are linked by the fact that the characters look similar.

Naruto Father Theory

Naruto looks similar to the Fourth Hokage, even more so that some have theories that Naruto is the Fourth. The reincarnation theory is pretty much laughable since Naruto was alive before the Fourth was killed or committed suicide to seal the demon.

Granted, there have been some clues that Naruto has something that the Fourth also had, whether it is implied that they are related or not, is up to question. There have also been hints to suggest that they aren’t related. If they were related they the town probably wouldn’t have hated Naruto as much as they did. The story stated that he was an orphan at the beginning, not after the Fourth was killed.

It could be that the author didn’t want to completely kill the theory, but didn’t want to confirm it either. Which makes the most sense.

Please Note: I haven’t read any of the Naruto manga for the past 10 months, so the answer might have already been given. Please do not spoil it for me, in which case, because I can find you and I’ll leave it at that.

Rock Lee Father Theory

This has already been denied countless times in the story. They look enough alike to be father and son relationship. However, there have been numerous hints that it just isn’t the case. That they look similar is coincidence and nothing more. It might also be further proof that Naruto and the Fourth aren’t related since in the context of Naruto, even if you look similar, it doesn’t mean you are blood related.

However, they haven’t from up to the point I have read, came out and said that they aren’t blood related, so the theory keeps coming up every so often. There is enough proof that they aren’t blood related that there would have to be a really good explanation as to why they didn’t come out and say that they were.

People Who Are Similar Doesn’t Make Them Related

I’m more trying to debunk the theory that just because Dean looks like Dr. Venture doesn’t makes him a clone of Dr. Venture and same logic applying to Hank and Brock.

It would appear so far that the series is pointing the viewers in that direction. The clues are there in the second season and the more the series goes on, the more clues there are. However, I would have to compile a complete list of the clues for and probably against before I come to my own conclusion.

Go Team Venture! Season 2 Opener

You know, for all of the time I have been watching this series and absolutely loving it, I haven’t posted a thing about it.

I don’t know about the series now. I tried watching the first season over once I received the DVD, but a lot of the jokes weren’t funny the second time around. It is true that 99% of the jokes can’t be watched over.

I’m also a little disappointed about the DVD also, because it is still censored. I shelled out 20 USD for cuss words and hot cartoon ass and it wasn’t even on the DVD. The Season Finale where Hank and Dean are with the Monarch in the old school Scared Straight style prison action. They still had it censored and I paid good money to hear it uncut. The scene is still funny, but the mood isn’t right.

If the uncut version comes out I will buy it and give my current one as a gift.

Season 2: First Episode *Updated*

The episode took a few times to get used to it and laugh naturally to the jokes.

The Opening

It took a while to get used to it, but the music makes the opening good. I still think that the dialogue between Brock and Dr. Venture was forced. The part about the rave and the young girl having Rusty’s baby is pretty funny.

The Music at the beginning is “Everybody’s Free (to Feel Good)” by Rozalla. Really good song and I think they may have enhanced the quality for the show or have the CD. The one I have doesn’t sound as good as the one in the video.

They also changed the opening credits, I suppose for this episode only since Brock and Dean are coming back, so they will be going back to the old credits in episode two.

The Opener joke is that Dr. Venture runs off to ‘find’ himself while Brock is chasing after him. You see the Doctor in different locations with the last one at a rave when Brock finally gets a hold of him.

The Necromancer

One of the more funny moments in the whole episode. He is still a little sad that he let the boys die and goes to find them to bring them back. He even travels to the 9th Circle of Hell (from Dante’s Inferno) and there is a good joke there. “Everybody’s Knows. They think your here because you’re f**king lying!”

One issue that I have is that his daughter is out of character. It could be that she is angry that he is paying more attention to the death of the boys than to her. Her feelings could be genuine since there is no one else her age to talk to on the complex. Still, something might come of it later, but I still doubt it. She didn’t seem interested in the first season.

I was wrong when I said that Dr. Venture got Necrophilia mixed with Necromancer, it was Brock that actually said that. You don’t know if he was kidding. There was a smirk on his face as he said it, still somewhat funny. Not ha ha, but would probably leave you smiling.

Are you Raping me?

The Monarch in prison was top notch and saved the episode completely. It in part a parody of Prison Break from Fox, but because of the super villain elements they take it to a whole another level.

I’m just going to say that you just have to see it. The beginning where the King Gorilla takes the Monarch into his cell to rape him is great. I just wish the dialogue between the Necromancer and Dr. Venture was at the same level.

The Venture Brothers Are Clones

Well, duh! Anyone who didn’t see that coming is a moron. I had the idea half way through the first episode. They drop so many hints is it is obvious. Just the fact that what they do is so damn dangerous. Brock can’t save them every time, so they would have to clone them after they died. Unless they are just really lucky with surviving, which given the nature of the series I doubted that.

I like the 12th time they died, when Brock and Dr. Venture get across and then the trap door opens killing the boys. The look on the two’s faces was priceless. However, I don’t get how they can keep cloning the boys. There would have to be set limit on how many times they can do it. Eventually, they would have to get new material.

Season 2 of Venture Brothers

Venture Brothers is an awesome Adult Swim series that parodies old Johnny Quest and other action series and movies. The characters are very realistic and sarcastic, which gives them life and humor. Season 2 is going to look more like the old Scooby Doo cartoons which I thought would suck, but the designs look better with CG added. Season 1 looks more modern with the simple tones and looks like the New Scooby Doo cartoons.

The wait will be long, since they are making it kick ass and won’t come out until the Summer. I’m going to buy the DVD, since I want them to succeed and DVD sales may allow them to continue. The ratings last season wasn’t that much, and it may go the way of Family Guy. The humor is a little unique, so not many people that I have talked too that watched the show like it. It is too bad, the characters are really funny in their own incompetent way.
