I have been depressed, to say the least, about different things. I don’t feel I have what it takes to complete Mecha Asylum, the way I want it to be completed. I also doubt I would be able to make any money from doing all of this. I have spent some time off to gather my thoughts and gain some insight on what I should do and how I should go about doing it.
After seeing what Bobman has done with Mecha Asylum, I figure I should give it a go. That and my host has installed PHP 5 and I’m excited to start working with it finally. There are somethings I want to get started on.
The only problem that I can forsee is that I will have to push the development of the current game that Bobman is working on off the site when I finish with my game, the two games will be widely different from scope and game play. I doubt he will take that news well. At least he will have gained some insight and experience from messing with the game.
The current game is too scattered and messy to work with and I don’t feel like going through and writing some fixes. I have decided to start on the Mecha Asylum project again and see how far I can get with it. It should be fun to get working with the language again. I still have problems with the design of the web site, but I can eventually deal with that later. It isn’t as important as the game code itself.
I read what I have wrote for Mecha Asylum and I’m glad I wrote all I did down, because it is really good stuff and I’m proud I had thought all of what I did at the time. I hope to implement most of what I wrote and write some more on the subjects again.
One thing I still haven’t figured out is if the game is going to be a RPG or a RTS, I figured it would be fun to have both, but it would be too complex to do it that way. Who wants to spend all the time to learn all that?
